Percy Puppy Show : Saturday 30th July 2011

The Percy held their annual Puppy Show in glorious sunshine, the judges were Mr John Goode, huntsman to the Brocklesby, whose stallion hounds we have used over the years and Major Tim Easby who is working very hard on the political side of the hunting repeal for the MFHA.

There was a tremendous crowd of around two hundred and fifty there.  I was a little bit disappointed with our young entry but the judges thought they were a nice strong entry.

The results of the dog hounds were Alnwick walked by Mrs Betty Robson was first, Alnmouth walked by the Morris family was second and Allerton walked by Mrs Emma Howie, our hunt secretary was third.

In the bitches Alaska walked by the Morris family was first, Always walked by Mr Billy Crole was second and Alpha walked by Mrs Lynn Walker was third.

Alnwick went on to be overall champion which was very pleasing as Mrs Betty Robson has not won this for over twenty years.

In the couples Alpha and Almond went on to win and give Mrs Lynn Walker her eigth couple trophy, the Fred Kinch Memorial Trophy.

Of last year's best working hounds, Portman walked by the Chrisp Family was best working dog and Gaelic walked by Mr and Mrs Stephen McCarthy was best working bitch.
