Festival of Hunting, Royal Peterborough Show : Wednesday 20th July 2011

The Percy Hunt once again showed at the Royal Peterborugh Show, The Festival of Hunting. This year we took seven and a half couple of hounds.
As we had such a good day last year we were showing hounds that had not been shown before so I did not expect to do too well but we ended up having one of our best days at Peterborough.

In the first class, the unentered dog, we showed three hounds, Alnwick walked by Mrs Betty Robson, Positive walked by Mrs Annette Grey and Potter walked by the Chrisp Family. We stayed in a fair while with all three, but in the end we ended up with Positive in a run off with the Holderness. Percy Positive went on to win the class which was very pleasing as he is out of one of our best working bitches and is by one of our best working dogs.

The next class was the entered dog hound couple class where we showed two couples, Spitfire and Gamble and Woking and Worton, we went on to do very well winning the class with Woking and Worton and coming third with Spitfire and Gamble.

The next class was the stallion hound class which is always one of the most important classes of the day, we showed two hounds Waffle and Woolem who I both rate very highly in their work. Waffle went on to win the class with Woolem coming third.

Waffle went on to be Champion Old English Dog Hound which ended a very good morning with us winning all three dog hound classes and Waffle giving us our fourth Peterborough Championship.
Our senior master, Lady Victoria Percy was presented with the trophy in the main ring at the end of the morning.

In the afternoon we showed in every bitch class and came up against some very smart bitches from the Warwickshire. Our Alaska walked by the Morris family was reserve in the unentered bitch class, we were then third with Poet and Poetry in a very strong entered couple class and we were then third with Pocket in the brood bitch class to finish a very good day.

We finished the day with three firsts, four thirds, one reserve and a championship. It was a very good day and very pleasing to see so many Percy supporters all the way down at Peterborough.
