Foxhounds prayer
The newly formed Friends of the Percy Hunt ran their first ever Country Dog and Hound Show on Sunday 06 July 2014 at Ratcheugh Point to Point Course. It was a cracking day with a very good show of hounds and all other sort of dogs. The Friends of The Percy Hunt had a really good day and made a good amount of money for their funds.

The Hound Classes were judged by Mr Michael Hedley MFH, Border Foxhounds. There were four packs of fox hounds competing at the show.

We won with our first hound of the day, Porrick, walked by Mrs Lynne Walker in the Unentered Dog Class, this is now the third show this summer this little dog has won at.

The next class was the Entered Dog in which we showed Alnwick and Clinker with Alnwick coming second to a Tynedale dog.

The next class, the Best Couple of Entered Dogs, we again showed Alnwick and Clinker and they again came second to the Tynedale.

We then went into the Unentered Bitch Class with Pocket and Possible with Pocket going on to be third.

We also came third in the next class the Entered Bitch with Lightning.

We then took our best couple of bitches, Lilac and Claret, into the Entered Couple of Bitches with them going on to win a good class.

We then added Litmus and Lightning to these for the Group Class with them going on to win it.

The last class of the day was the Veteran in which we took the old favourite, Spitfire, who is now nearly eight, he showed and looked as well as ever and was third.

We then took our winning couple of bitches, Lilac and Claret and unentered dog, Porrick, into the Championship alongside the Morpeth and Tynedale. We went on to win the Championship with Porrick, which was very pleasing. The judge, Mr Michael Hedley, presented the trophy to our Joint Master and Chairman, Mr Charles Bucknell. This was the first time The Friends of the Percy Hunt trophy has been presented, the trophy being very kindly sponsored by Sportsworld of Alnwick.
The rosettes for the hound classes were kindly sponsored by Rickerby.

The terrier, lurcher and family dog show classes were kindly sponsored by Alnorthumbia Vets, Blacketts Gift Shop of Bamburgh, Northumberland College, Mole Valley and Robson and Prescott Vets. Our thanks to all.
